Education and collaboration are vital to the future of the Linux Foundation ecosystem, and it is imperative to us that everyone in the community that wants to participate feels welcome to do so regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, age, religion or economic status. The Linux Foundation code of conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.
Here are just some of the ways we encourage more diversity & inclusion in and around our events:
- No all-male panels, all-male speaker line-ups, or all-male keynote line-ups
- Request speakers to take our Inclusive Speaker Orientation, created in collaboration with the National Center for Women & Information Technology
- Accessibility Considerations – captioning on video recordings, wheelchair-accessible venues, food allergy management, information on event websites on wheelchair and medical equipment rental
- Non-Alcoholic Beverages available at all social events
- Gender Neutral Event Shirt Sizing
- Event Code of Conduct Signage prominently displayed onsite
- Offer diversity scholarships to most of our events so that anyone from a diverse background who would like to attend, can attend at no cost.
