FinOps for Autonomous Systems

Agenda / FinOps for Autonomous Systems
Breakout
Level: 300

Artificial intelligence and autonomous agents are introducing new cost allocation models. Infrastructure spend is increasingly initiated by software agents rather than human actors. Autonomous agents are increasingly driving resource consumption. This resource consumption results in cost attribution challenges for FinOps practitioners.

In this advanced session, we share lessons learned from building and operating autonomous AI systems providing agentic capabilities. We examine how modern AI architectures operate and how charge back/show back accounting can be reconciled with agentic behaviour. We will dive deep into why traditional approaches such as forecasting models struggle as autonomous systems initiate spend and where today’s FinOps frameworks are likely to evolve next. Attendees will explore emerging approaches to cost allocation, unit-cost measurement and experimentation to adapt as AI systems become more autonomous.
