As AI takes over data processing, the human side of FinOps becomes more valuable, not less—stakeholder communication, contextual judgment, building trust with engineering teams, translating numbers into decisions. These skills don’t get automated away; they get amplified. From my work designing FinOps solutions and tooling, I’ve experienced what it feels like when AI clicks into place: building capabilities in hours that would have taken weeks, exploring scenarios I wouldn’t have attempted alone, prototyping ideas fast enough to actually test them. This talk explores how AI can extend your human strengths rather than compete with them—and why doubling down on the relational, interpretive, and creative aspects of your work may be the smartest career move you make. I’ll also share a resource repo with workflow ideas, prompts, and sample artifacts to help you start experimenting immediately.
